Department of Immigration and Border Protection has cancelled over 10,859 student visas for the 2014-15 as part of a crackdown on applicants who are not genuinely in the country to study.
During the crackdown , some 1,000 “course hopping” students, that is people who arrive with a visa for an accredited education institution but then transfer to an uncredited course in another place, were identified.
Most of the student visa cancellation belong to Chinese students followed by South Korea, India, Vietnam and Thailand.
