Important announcement for International Students graduating this summer. If you are a recent graduate from an Australian university on a student visa and now want to apply for your Permanent Residency there are few things you need to know before lodging your visa applications.

Study documents

You will need your final transcript or statement of marks to claim points for your Degree.

English

The IELTS, OET, Pearson, Cambridge Academic and TOEFL tests of English are all now accepted by Department of Immigration, and points can be claimed on the basis of results.

English test results are valid for 3 years for migration purposes.


Skills assessment

To apply for general skilled migration, you will need a positive skills assessment at time of lodgement.

Skills assessment timing varies with different bodies and can take 3 months or more. So you need to apply for skill assessment at the earliest.

2 years of study in Australia

To claim points for Australian study you must have completed a course, or courses, taking at least 2 academic years of study in Australia enrolled as an international student.

Age

To claim points for your age must not be more than 50 years when applying.

Experience

You can claim points for your work experience in Australia and Overseas only if your work experience is closely related the your nominated occupation.
